the mint julep originated in the south, sometime during the eighteenth century. it's been the beverage of choice at the kentucky derby since 1938 where it's reported 120,000 juleps are served up annually. we think our 16 oz party cup is a fun and modern twist to the traditional silver cup and an easier way to serve this southern tradition to a larger crowd. cheers!
